Conversations with Myself
Acrylic yarn, cotton backing | 46” x 46”
You know those conversations that play on endless repeat in your mind?
The ones where you perfectly craft what you should have said, or rehearse what you might say tomorrow?
This piece captures that feeling of “jouska” - those hypothetical dialogues swirling through our consciousness.
The flowing layers pulse like thoughts cycling through different emotions, while the face emerges and dissolves back into waves of color, just like how we lose ourselves in these internal conversations.
The vibrant colors bleeding into each other mirror how these mental rehearsals shift and change - anger melting into sadness, confidence flowing into doubt.
Each layer is another version of the conversation, another way we’ve imagined it could go.
Have you ever caught yourself mid-jouska and wondered how long you’d been lost in that imaginary dialogue?
